Care Under One Roof

Comprehensive Care Under One Roof

Our goal at Arlington Cancer Center is to provide a speedy diagnosis and a progressive, individualized treatment plan to each person we see using the latest technology and tools. We provide coordination of care with the following services available at our main Arlington campus:

1. Medical Oncology and Hematology. Our medical oncologists/hematologists coordinate each patient’s care, and are supported by a multidisciplinary team of over 100 associates ― including radiation oncologists, radiologists, nurses and other health care professionals. In addition to cancer, our oncologists and hematologists provide care for blood disorders, genetic testing for cancer conditions and cancer vaccines.

2. Chemotherapy Infusion Center. Our specially designed infusion center is set up with chairs in groups of four to facilitate conversation and comfort. A safe and cost-effective alternative to hospitalization, the center is staffed with caring and knowledgeable oncology nurses trained to administer and monitor patients during chemotherapy. Our Trophy Club center also offers outpatient infusion services for patients living in North Tarrant and Denton counties.

3. Radiation Therapy. We offer a wide range of radiation treatment options, including External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Rapid Arc, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), High-Dose Rate Brachytherapy (HDR), Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI), Thyroid Ablation, Quadramet for bone metastasis and Radioimmunotherapy. As with many other treatments, there are risks for patients who are undergoing radiation therapy. It is important to remember, however, that a qualified physician will not advise his/her patient to receive a treatment unless the benefits — such as control of disease and relief from symptoms — outweigh the known risks.

Radiology4. Diagnostic Radiology. Today’s rapidly advancing technology has reduced the number of invasive procedures needed for diagnosing cancer and blood disorders. We offer a broad range of diagnostic equipment on-site, including X-ray, ultrasound, digital mammography, nuclear medicine, MRI, CT and PET/CT. Our diagnostic software creates three-dimensional reconstruction and analysis, resulting in more clearly defined tumors and enhanced diagnostic accuracy. These on-site services provide convenience for our patients and rapid access to current test results for our physicians.

5. Full-Service Laboratories. We provide comprehensive and advanced testing, including diagnostic testing — such as blood counts, serum chemistry, prothrombin times and urine tests, and specialized testing — such as chemotherapeutic drug sensitivity, tumor markers, circulating tumor cells and flow cytometry. Our stem cell lab is responsible for testing, processing and storing patients’ stem cells. Our lab is staffed with oncology-trained technologists and our specialized expertise has resulted in numerous other DFW-area facilities sending specimens to our lab for analysis.

6. Pharmacy Services. Patients take advantage of our full-service retail pharmacy and online prescription refill service for their oral medications and compounded prescriptions. Available at our main campus, pharmacy staff members fill prescriptions written by ACC and other physicians and accept most health care plans.

Outpatient Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation. Autologous stem cell transplants refer to stem cells that are collected from an individual and given back to that same individual. The procedure is sometimes used in the treatment of myeloma patients, where the patient’s stem cells are obtained prior to high-dose chemotherapy, frozen and stored then re-infused into the patient. Arlington Cancer Center has the unique distinction worldwide of conducting these procedures in a true outpatient setting. In addition to significant cost savings, the procedure considerably reduces the potential rejection of donor marrow and requirement to have a near-perfect match between donor and patient.

Clinical Trials. We continually assess the application of new treatment options for our patients as they emerge from basic science research and clinical studies. Please ask us about our access to clinical trials.
